Labels

I was sitting in church this past Sunday when I noticed the label on the man's shirt in front of me.  It was a cool label and definitely put in the particular place on the shirt so everyone could see what brand of shirt it was--that is at least everyone behind him.  The label was placed right on the middle of the shirt just below the collar.  All of the letters were in capitals.  It made quite a statement.  I liked it.  As I stared at the label, I began to think about my life labels.  What if I had to wear a label that everyone could see that described my "brand" of living?  What would it say?  Would my label be kindness, gentleness, faithfulness?  Or would my label be hatful, blunt, unforgiving, impatient?  The truth is, we do wear labels.  We label ourselves by our reactions or responses to situations that don't go our way; we wear our label when we are in a hurry or put in a situation that makes us uncomfortable.  Are the labels we wear bringing honor to our Heavenly Father and are we wearing them for all to see because we are walking in the spirit or is it time to change brands?  I don't know if we will have a heavenly clothing line when we get to heaven, but I do know what we are to "put on" while we walk this earth.  Go on, get some heavenly clothing clearly labeled with making a difference on this earth.
